Events : 4 hour Sprint and 9 hour Adventure
Summary: Pacheco State park is hilly, lots of fire roads, with some fun single track. Navigation can be challenging, but the open space makes it easy to see where you are going. There are also great water features to help with the navigation. Kayaking on the reservoir is often challenging due to high winds.
Things to note : The backside of the park has some technical mountain biking, single track and very loose. Walking is a good option in some spots. Kayak navigation is great for beginners since there are many features to help guide you. Note, if the wind is to your back at the start of the kayak, you will have a very challenging paddle on the way back.
